Are you uncertain about how wild cards are used to determine what Team or Singles player will advance to the next round of competition? Then take a moment to look at these examples by clicking on the link http://www.nctta.org/doc/Wildcard Examples.pdf.
Wild cards will be used as documented in the 2011-2012 NCTTA Rules and Regulations...Sections 5.3 (Seeding and Ratings), 6.3 (Team Qualification), and 6.4 (Singles Qualification).

How are team ratings calculated?
1. If a team have 4 players A, B, C, D playing in the Fall Division Tournament and 4 players A, C, E, F playing in the Spring Tournament, how will that team rating be calculated for Regional Tournament wild cards?
2. Acording to the wild card examples, a team with high individual ratings even don't need to play the double when they are drawing 2-2 with a lower rating team, because the double game doesn't affect the wild card results at all. This rule is clearly not a well-designed one.
3. If wild cards are considered based on individual ratings, not on the standings in the division tournaments, then why team are wasting time on the strategies to beat other teams? It's not really a team competition any more.
My 2 cents,
Howard
