********President’s Report********

Dear NCTTA Table Tennis School teams and respective club members,

College Table Tennis in the United States and Canada is on fire and has increased its popularity at a feverish pace. We have more then 120 active college table tennis clubs and 19 NCTTA divisions (3 new divisions!) None of this would have been possible without your enthusiasm and hard work during the past few seasons.

It gives me great pleasure to introduce 3 new divisions:

            a) Arizona

            b) Minnesota/Iowa

            c) Colorado/Wyoming

Theses divisions will be joining the NCTTA as “transitional” divisions for their inaugural season.

Between thirteen and twenty new schools will join the NCTTA this year, two of which will become scholarship development programs. The University of Puerto Rico joins the Florida Division, while Darton College joins the Georgia Division.  Both schools will be offering scholarships to table tennis athletes!  The NCTTA looks forward to serving these new schools, while welcoming back all returning schools, players, and coaches for the 2006 – 2007 season.

On a sad note, it brings us much sadness to report the untimely passing of a Harvard Table Tennis club member, Mr. Hui Wang. An unfortunate automobile accident in New York State’s Catskill Mountains Saturday afternoon took Hui’s life. Hui was a very dedicated and supportive member of the Harvard Table Tennis Club, and will be terribly missed. Our deepest condolence and best wishes go out to his family, friends and teammates.

ACUI Regional Schedule Information

We here at NCTTA believe in an entire team approach to college table tennis.  ACUI is a non for profit educational organization that conducts both regional and national table tennis tournaments on behalf of college institutions across America.  NCTTA would like to do everything in its power to promote this event.  This is an excellent opportunity for those schools not connected with a region to play intercollegiate Table Tennis.  Also it is a good opportunity to establish a good relationship with your school’s administration.  Get involved, volunteer, and PLAY!
